my last customer tonight at work was shopping with her young daughter. the girl saw cheap friendship bracelets (little hearts, one says “best” and one says “friends” i’m sure you had them when you were a kid) and pulled out a handful of change all excited to buy one for herself
the mom said “no, i don’t like that rainbow shit” snatched it our of her hand then told her daughter “rainbow means gay. when you wear rainbow you’re telling everyone you’re gay. you can’t have that! if you were 18 it would be a different story, but you’re 9 years old.”
the moral of this story is i literally hate humanity i’m done with earth i’m bombing it and leaving bye

It sucks that you couldn’t have made some remark in defense of what the daughter wanted, since you kind of work there. But yes I agree people suck. I hope that girl turns out straight and cis so her mother’s vile attitude doesn’t hurt her personally.
